2023-2024 Season
John Barker is a retired heights professional. He spent the majority of his career as a wind turbine technician for GE Renewable energy, but has done work as a tower climber for AT&T as well. He holds certifications in rigging, safety, and equipment operation as well as a Wind Turbine Technician's certificate from the North American Wind Energy Association (NAWEA). This is his 4th season singing with Orpheus.
Jeffrey Bauman serves as Professor of Music at Young Harris College. He is also the Music Director at First United Methodist Church of Union County. He holds a bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from Bowling Green State University and Master's Degrees in Vocal Performance and Choral Conducting from Bowling Green State University. He is a founding member of Orpheus and has sung in the group for all nine seasons since its inception.
Facilitator
Drew Bowers is the Director of Choral Activities at Milton High School. He also serves as Director of Music at Alpharetta Presbyterian Church. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Shorter College and a master's degree in Choral Conducting from Louisiana State University. This is his 5th season singing with Orpheus.
Kenneth Boykin, Jr. is the Choral Director at Carver Middle School in Harris County. He also serves as Choir Director at Higher Ground COGIC of Columbus, Ga. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Young Harris College. He is currently serving as the GMEA District 3 Chair as well as the GaDOE Fine Arts Advisory Council. This is his 2nd season singing with Orpheus.
Conductor
Antoine Bray is the Choral Director at Harris County High School. He also serves as Choir Director for The Infantry Chapel on Ft. Moore. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Valdosta State University and a Post-Baccalaureaten in Music Education from the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University. Since his debut as music director for All Shook Up (2012), he has led the music for nearly every LSPA stage production, notably: 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (2017), Company (2020), and summer junior productions like Madagascar and Once Upon a Mattress (2023). This is his 4th year singing with Orpheus.
Jay Champion is the Choral Director at Lost Mountain Middle School. He holds bachelor's degrees in Music Education and Music Composition from Louisiana State University and master's and education specialist's degrees in Music Education from the University of Georgia. He is sought after as a clinician, guest conductor, music technology instructor, composer and arranger. He has performed and recorded with the LSU A Cappella Choir, the Moses Hogan Chorale, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus and Chamber Chorus, and Coro Vocati. This is his 3rd season singing with Orpheus.
Treasurer
Charles Claiborn is a retired high school choral music teacher. He taught for 30 years. He currently serves as a Choir Church Director and a Community Chorus Director. He holds a bachelor's degree and master's degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia and an educational specialist's degree in Educational Administration and Music Education from Georgia State University. He has previously served as GMEA State Choral Chair, Georgia ACDA President, and Head Adjudicator for LGPE. This is his 8th season singing with Orpheus.
Production Chair
Caleb Cole is a Masters student in Choral Conducting at Georgia State University, where he serves as a Graduate Assistant. In this capacity, he co-conducts the Repertory Singers and teaches Aural Skills. He is the Bass Section Leader at St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church in Brookhaven, Ga. He is also the facilitator for Voces Amicis, a choir of GSU students and alumni. He has previously served as the Choral Director at Rabun County High School in Tiger, Ga where he taught choir, piano, guitar, and music appreciation. Caleb Cole is a graduate of the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University. This is his 4th season singing with Orpheus.
Conductor
Michael Devine is the Director of Music Ministry at Northside United Methodist Church, Atlanta. He holds an Urkunde (certificate) from Wiener Sängerknaben (The Vienna Boys Choir) for being a member and soloist in the group. He also holds a bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from Wheaton College, a master's degree in Conducting from Luther Seminary & St. Olaf College. He is currently working on obtaining a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Along with Orpheus, he is also a member of the Atlanta Master Chorale and the Atlanta Symphony Chorus and Chamber Chorus. This is his 6th season singing with Orpheus.
Jared Duncan is the Director of Choirs and Vocal Music at DeKalb School of the Arts. He also serves a Choir Director for Dunwoody Baptist Church and Bass Staff Singer for Dunwoody United Methodist Church. He holds a bachelor's degree in Choral Music Education from the University of Kentucky, a master's degree in Music Education from Campbellsville University, and an education specialist's degree in Choral Music Education from Auburn University. This is his 2nd season singing with Orpheus.

Ladell Fortune is the Choral Director at Flat Rock Middle School. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Georgia Southern University and a master's degree in Music Education from Boston University. He currently serves as Choral Chair for GMEA District 6. This is his first year singing with Orpheus.
Bill Gabbard is the Minister of Music at Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, Atlanta. He previously served as Tenor Vocalist/Soloist and Assistant Conductor in The Soldiers’ Chorus of The US Army Field Band, Washington DC (1987-2018). He holds a bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from Mercer University and a master's degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from The University of Iowa. This is his 4th year singing with Orpheus.
Dr. Timothy Gale is a retired Choral Music teacher. He taught for 40 years before retiring. He taught he majority of his career at West Hall High School. He currently serves as Choir Director at St. Paul UMC, Gainesville and Adjunct Professor at UNG Campuses. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Carson-Newman University, a master's degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas, and a doctorate in Vocal Performance from the University of Memphis. During his time at WHHS, his students achieved much success, including MusicFest Orlando Grand Champions, WHHS Select Women’s Chorus GMEA Performances, and WHHS Select Women’s Chorus Southern ACDA Performance. This is his 4th year singing with Orpheus.
Larry Kevin Garland II is Financial Supervisor for Buc-ee's Ltd. He also serves as a Staff Singer at Church at Ponce and Highland. He holds a bachelor's degree in Musical Theatre from Young Harris College. This is his 4th season singing with Orpheus.
Dr. Cody Goss is the Director of Choral Activities at Rome High School. He also serves as Director of Traditional Music and Worship Arts at Rome First United Methodist Church. Additionally, he serves as an Adjunct Instructor of Music and Worship at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. He holds a bachelor's degree in Vocal/Choral Education from Jacksonville State University, as well as master's and doctorate degrees in Choral Conducting from the University of Alabama. This is his second season singing with Orpheus.

William Hall is the Choral Director at Etowah High School. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Georgia Southern University and a master's degree in Choral Conducting from Louisiana State University. He is a founding member of Orpheus and has sung in the group for eight seasons.

Dr. Kevin Hibbard is a retired choral music teacher. He taught for 41 years. He previously served as Director of Choirs at the University of West Georgia and currently serves as Choir Director at Grace Lutheran Church, Carrollton. He also serves as Music Director for Collegium Vocale Community Chorus, Atlanta. Dr. Hibbard holds a bachelor's degree in Music Eduction and Performance from Luther College, a master's degree in Choral Music from Arizona State University, and a D.M.A. in Choral Music from Arizona State Univeristy. This is his 6th season singing with Orpheus.
Lyman Hinson is a professional pool technician. He also serves as Choir Director for Milledgeville Singers Guild. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music from Berry College and a master's degree in Choral Conducting from Mercer University. This is his 1st season singing with Orpheus.
Daniel Holder is the Music Specialist at Alcova Elementary School. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Berry College. This is his 2nd year singing with Orpheus.

Josh Markham is the Choral Director at Sequoyah High School. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Shorter College and a master's degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia. He is a founding member of Orpheus and has sung in the group all nine seasons since its inception.
Scott L. Martin is the Choral Director at Creekview High School. He also serves as the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor for The Cherokee Chorale. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Shorter University, as well as a master's degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia. Scott has previously held the position of GMEA State Choral Chair and has had choirs perform at multiple GMEA conferences, as well as ACDA state and division concerts. He is a founding member of Orpheus and has sung in the group for all 9 seasons since its founding.
Owen Malone is currently studying music at Young Harris College. This is his first season singing with Orpheus.
Dr. Paul Neal is the Director of Choral Activities at Berry College. He holds a bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from Rice University, a master's degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Oklahoma, and a doctorate in Choral Conducting from the University of California, Los Angeles. This is his 8th season singing with Orpheus.

Dr. Marcel Ramalho is the Director of Choral Activities and Assistant Professor of Voice at Augusta University. He holds a bachelor's degree in Vocal Education from Universidade Federal da Paraíba (Brazil), a master's degree in Vocal Performance from Indiana State University, and a doctorate in Vocal Performance and Choral Conducting from Ball State University. This is his 2nd season singing in Orpheus.
Max Rampley is the Choral Director at Alexander High School. He also serves as Director of Music Ministries at Sam Jones Methodist Church, Cartersville, Ga. He holds a bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from Reinhardt University and a master's degree in Choral Conducting from Georgia State University. He was taught by Judson Whitfield, a fellow Orpheus member. This is his 2nd season singing with Orpheus.
James Ranson is a professional editor and entrepreneur. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music and English from Principia College and a master's degree in Arts Management from Carnegie Mellon University. James has sung semiprofessionally in five states. Highlights include three years with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus, two competition seasons with the international champion barbershop chorus Ambassadors of Harmony, a performance at Carnegie Hall with the Carnegie Mellon Concert Choir, and a fifteen-year career as a church staff singer. Outside of Orpheus, James currently sings with Atlanta Master Chorale. This is his 1st season singing with Orpheus.
Jeremiah Robinson is the Choral Director at Ridgeview Charter Middle School. He is also a Staff Singer at Roswell Presbyterian Church. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Kennesaw State University. This is his 2nd season singing with Orpheus.
Steven Rotz is the Choral Director at Woodward Academy. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Shorter College and a master's degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Alabama. He is a founding member of Orpheus and has sung in the group all nine seasons since its inception.

Dr. Steven Sheeley currently serves as a Higher Education Consultant. He previously served as a Senior Vice President for SACSCOC. He holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science and English from Missouri State University, a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a PhD in the New Testament from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. This is his first season singing with Orpheus
Jasen Swafford is a self-employed designer at Gamut Workshop. He holds a bachelor's degree in Piano Pedagogy from Shorter College and a master's degree in Christianity and Contemporary Culture from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is a founding member of Orpheus and this is his 4th season singing with the group.
Ross Wason is the Application Integration Specialist for Forsyth County Schools. He holds a bachelor's degree in Secondary Social Studies Education from Miami University (Oxford, OH) and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University. During his time at Miami, Ross sang in the Miami University Men's Glee Club, under the direction of Dr. Ethan Sperry, and served as a student conductor. This is his first season singing with Orpheus.

Ryan Wason is the Chorus Director at Lambert High School. He also serves as the Music Director for the Acting Troupe of Lambert and Performing Arts Department Chair, as well as a member of the Forsyth County Schools Fine Arts Advisory committee. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education with a Voice Emphasis from Heidelberg College (Tiffin, OH). This is his 8th season singing with Orpheus.
Judson Whitfield serves as Choir and Theatre Director at Adairsville High School. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Reinhardt University. This is his 7th season singing with Orpheus.

James Williams is the Choral Director at Dacula High School. He also serves as Gwinnett County Public Schools Lead Teacher for High School Chorus. He holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Furman University and a master's degree in Choral Conducting from Georgia State University. He is also an LGPE adjudicator. This is his 7th year singing with Orpheus.

Susan Wallace is the assistant Choral Director at Milton High School. She serves as the Director of Music at Sandy Springs Christian Church and is a freelance accompanist for various metro Atlanta schools and organizations. She performed in the inaugural season and has played for all 9 years since its founding.
